The Right Time to Roar

Sometimes, timing is everything …

Cosmically speaking, the first half of 2014 has been stormy -- intense, yet difficult to find direction. But the pattern is finally breaking; the Sun occasionally peaks through the clouds. Take action on the sunny days, and you'll get a head start on the energetic rush coming later this year.

The good news for August: all of the visible planets -- the ones we can see in the night sky with the naked eye -- are moving forward from July 20 through October 4. This is a greenlight for finally getting those stalled projects up and running in the second half of the year. It's never too late to start a "new" year!

And more good news, the new Moon in fiery Leo on July 26 brings a fresh wave of creativity and optimism. Joining the party in the Lion's den are Jupiter on July 16, Sun on July 22, Mercury on July 31, and Venus on August 12. Leo planets want to play and create, and to be affirmed and admired. They are best when self-confidence inspires great works, not petty boasts or jealousy.

You can bet Mars and Saturn in Scorpio will be keeping it real. Mars enters Scorpio July 25; last time he was there with Saturn was October 2012. Planets in Leo and Scorpio can both crave intensity, but in Leo it's fun and games, while Scorpio demands an emotional investment. We are challenged to bring our authentic selves to our creative endeavors; if you're not living with integrity or honesty, don’t be surprised if someone calls you on it.

There's also another complication for the month, and it's a big one. August is peppered with long void-of-course Moon periods. Void Moons are best for resting and integrating, not initiating. The best way to work with them is to mark your calendar, and plan accordingly, so you may use your energies wisely.

Toward the end of August, you'll likely feel back in the swing of things, perhaps for the first time in 2014. With Mercury shifting into Virgo on August 15, followed by a new Moon in Virgo on August 25, the back-to-school vibe fills the air. September features a lineup of fortuitous Earth and Fire grand trines. Time to kick it up a notch!
